Construction
The EX-C1D2 series is constructed of impact resistant, fiberglass, reinforced polyester gray housing and includes stainless steel hardware and clear polycarbonate cover. The housing features a one piece formed gasket and corrosion-resistant hardware.
Illumination
Illumination of the exit stencil face is accomplished with long lasting, high output LEDs, producing an average illumination level in excess of 25 fl at the end of the 90 minute emergency run time.
Emergency Operation
Upon failure of the normal utility power, an internal solid-state transfer switch automatically provides uninterrupted emergency operation for at least 90 minutes. The fully automatic solid-state, two-rate charger initiates battery charging to recharge a discharged battery in 24 hours.
Battery - Battery Backup
The EX-C1D2 series is designed with a free sealed nickel cadium battery (Battery Backup and Self-Testing Model only).
Operational Temperature

Standard Option | 19°C to 30°C / 65°F to 86°F |
Self-Testing Option
STANDARD SELF-TESTING option enables a periodic self-test of the equipment where a test routine is established to perform a one minute test once a month with a 30 minute test performed on the sixth and twelfth month in accordance with NFPA 101. Equipment readiness faults are indicated with a visual LED display.Electrical Components
Dual voltage input 120/277 VAC operation with surge protection for all options. Battery backup models include brownout detection, AC lockout, low voltage disconnect, AC indicator, charge status indicator, audible user-interface controls, visual LED system fault indicator, and tactile push-to-test switch.
