Construction
The EMIN-S inverter is housed in a heavy-duty steel cabinet finished with a white baked-on powder coat that provides excellent scratch and corrosion resistance.
CHARGER
The EMIN-S inverter features a fully automatic, temperature-compensated, dual-mode battery charger that meets UL 924 recharge duty cycle requirements. Charger-only power consumption is rated at 15W maximum (2.5W standby) for the 110W / 125VA model, and 30W maximum (5W standby) for the 220W / 250VA model. A dedicated battery circuit breaker functions as both overcurrent protection and a battery isolator. Standard controls include a momentary test switch and LED status indicators for AC-On, Charge-On, and Inverter-On. Integrated safety circuitry provides AC lockout to prevent battery discharge prior to initial startup and brownout protection that automatically transfers the unit to emergency mode when utility voltage is significantly reduced.
ENVIRONMENTAL
The EMIN-M inverter is rated for installation at altitudes up to 10,000 feet above sea level without derating. The operating temperature range is 68°F to 86°F, with optimum system performance achieved within this range. Temperatures outside the recommended range may affect battery performance and service life. The unit is designed to operate in environments with up to 95% relative humidity, non-condensing.
Emergency Operation
Upon loss of normal utility power, the EMIN-M inverter automatically activates through a solid-state switching circuit, providing a minimum of 90 minutes of emergency power to the connected load while maintaining 100% of the lamp’s rated lumen output for the entire duration. A solid-state low-voltage disconnect protects the battery from deep discharge during extended outages. When normal utility power is restored, the unit automatically transfers the load back to normal operation and the fully automatic, temperature-compensated, dual-mode charger recharges the battery to full capacity in accordance with UL 924 requirements. An integrated brownout sensing circuit ensures proper performance during low-line voltage conditions.
Battery - Battery Backup
The EMIN-S inverter utilizes a sealed lead calcium (SLA) battery system with a 10-year design life. The 110W / 125VA model operates at 24VDC, while the 220W / 250VA model operates at 48VDC. Standard emergency runtime is 90 minutes, based on battery performance at 77°F (25°C). Battery protection includes a low-voltage battery disconnect to prevent deep discharge during extended outages, along with DC overload and short-circuit protection provided by a DC input breaker and fuse for safe and reliable operation.

LOAD COMPATIBILITY
