The COC1D2-U Hazardous Location Combo Exit Sign combines illuminated EXIT identification and emergency lighting in one rugged fixture designed for demanding environments. UL Listed for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C & D hazardous locations with a T4A rating, the unit features a durable polycarbonate enclosure with NEMA 4X and IP66 protection for wet, outdoor, and washdown locations. Red or green 6" EXIT lettering is field selectable, with universal single- or double-face configuration and removable directional indicators. Two fully adjustable 5000K LED lamp heads provide emergency egress illumination, while a maintenance-free LiFePO4 battery supplies at least 90 minutes of emergency operation. Available with self-testing/self-diagnostics and cold-location configurations. NSF/ANSI 2 certified for splash-zone applications in food processing and food service environments.

Construction
The COC1D2-U features a durable polycarbonate enclosure with 5VA flame-retardant and UV-resistant construction, along with stainless steel hardware for outdoor applications. The universal design supports single- or double-face configurations and features 6" EXIT lettering with a 3/4" stroke for a 100-foot viewing distance. Removable directional indicators allow for field configuration, while Allen socket screws help prevent unauthorized access to the unit.
CERTIFICATIONS
The COC1D2-U is UL Listed and designed to meet or exceed UL 924, UL 844, CSA C22.2 No. 141-15, CSA C22.2 No. 137-18, NEC, OSHA, and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirements. The unit is NEMA 4X rated for ingress protection and rated for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C & D hazardous locations with a T4A temperature rating. The unit also conforms to CEC Title 20 requirements and FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class A.Illumination
The COC1D2-U features field-selectable red or green EXIT illumination, with red as the factory default. Two fully adjustable 5000K LED lamp heads provide high-output emergency illumination and allow for flexible positioning to maximize egress coverage and fixture spacing.
Emergency Operation
Upon failure of the normal utility power, an internal solid-state transfer switch automatically provides uninterrupted emergency operation for at least 90-120 minutes. The fully automatic solid-state, two-rate charger initiates recharging a discharged battery within 24 hours.
Battery - Battery Backup
The COC1D2-U Exit Sign series incorporates a 9.6V 5000mAH maintenance-free LiFEPO4 battery that provides a minimum emergency duration of 90-120 minutes. Recharge time of the battery is 24 hours.

Self-Testing Option
The COC1D2-U features automatic self-testing and self-diagnostics, performing required monthly and annual tests while continuously monitoring AC power, the charging circuit, battery voltage, and AC-to-emergency transfer operation. A manual test can also be initiated using the built-in slider switch for convenient inspection and maintenance.

Electrical Components

A finger-sensing test switch and LED status indicator allow for convenient code-required testing. The solid-state circuitry includes brownout transfer, low-voltage disconnect, overload protection, short-circuit protection, and automatic AC-to-emergency transfer.
Installation
The COC1D2-U is designed for surface wall mounting using die-cast mounting brackets and includes a conduit hub for conduit or pendant-mount installations. Rated for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C & D hazardous locations with a T4A temperature rating. The NEMA 4X and IP66-rated enclosure is suitable for wet and outdoor locations, with cold-location configurations available for freezer and low-temperature applications.
